Planning Your 2027 with Katie Rose
NOTES:
In this workshop, I shared my approach to business planning, which can be used for annual, quarterly or even monthly planning. The aim is to create a realistic, sustainable plan that supports both your income goals and your life outside of work.
Here's what we covered:
- Discipline and consistency: Why success in business is so often about having a plan, showing up regularly and following through, rather than constantly looking for new ideas or strategies.
- Prioritising your business: Taking your work seriously, protecting your time and establishing clear boundaries with family and other commitments. Your business needs to be a priority for you before you can expect others to treat it as one.
- Step 1 – Sadhana Pockets: Creating dedicated blocks of time for your business BEFORE deciding what to do with them. Working with the reality of your life and recognising that even small pockets of consistent time can be productive.
- Step 2 – Goals: Identifying your financial goals and prioritising income-generating activities. Looking at your existing offers, how often you want to launch and what is realistic in terms of your time, energy and audience.
- Step 3 – Calendar Planning: Mapping your launches, projects and commitments onto a visual calendar. Allowing plenty of time for warming up your audience, delivering your offers and integrating what you've learnt before moving on.
- Launching with consistency: Why it's important not to pivot or abandon your strategy halfway through a launch. Give your plan a proper chance, follow through with your promotional activities and review the results afterwards.
- Experimentation and learning: Not every launch will be a success, but every launch gives you useful information. Approach your results with curiosity rather than judgement and make thoughtful adjustments for next time.
- Reviewing your offers: How to decide when to continue, improve or discontinue an offering. Consider the financial return alongside the time and energy involved, and don't make decisions based on guilt or obligation.
- Audience growth and engagement: Why building a warm, engaged audience matters before launching, and how live elements in free workshops and trainings can help create connection, trust and momentum.
- Planning for sustainability: Why having a clear plan can actually make you feel more relaxed, reduce decision fatigue and help you avoid the constant pressure of wondering what you should be doing next.
- The big takeaway: Make a realistic plan, commit to it, stay curious about your results and remember that sustainable business growth is built through consistent action over time, not one perfect launch or brilliant idea.
